With 2020 being the year that it’s been, I’ve found myself doing a lot less teaching and a lot more creating – both in terms of my foray into YouTube and just generally in terms of lesson planning, resource creation and writing. I love to write.
I’ve been keen to build on my script-writing skillset for a while now, particularly in the area of sleep stories. Since downloading the ‘Calm’ app a year or so back, these beautiful stories (read by beautiful voices) have been helping me to drift off… night after night.
I love the way that these stories allow the listener to unwind, alongside the narrative, and the way that mindfulness, gratitude and presence are intertwined into the overall fabric.
Anyway – I’ve written and recorded one, going back to my roots as a history teacher with a meditative journey to Roman Castleford, or Lagentium, as it was 2000 years ago. It’s aimed towards adults for a change (because I think we’re probably finding it harder to sleep than the kids right now). Click the link below and see what you think!
I’ve often been told that I have a voice that could put anyone to sleep… but at least this time, that’s kind of the point.
